Admission to Department of Tourism Science

Application for the entrance examination

Applicants are requested to appear for the entrance examination in August or February.

The entrance exam of the master's program includes a short essay, an oral examination, specialized subjects (only in August), and an oral presentation (only in February); the entrance exam for the doctoral program includes an oral presentation, and examination, a research proposal (only in August), and a short essay (only in February). In addition to the above, all applicants are requested to submit their TOEFL Examinee's Score Record, TOEIC score, or IELTS score.

  • + We only accept scores of TOEFL-PBT or TOEFL-iBT as TOEFL score. TOEFL-CBT, and TOEFL-ITP are not accepted. If you are going to submit TOEFL score, request ETS for Official Score Record and bring a copy of Examinee’s Score Record on the day of exam.
  • + TOEFL score should be forwarded to Tokyo Metropolitan University (Code : 7169).
  • + We only accept scores of TOEIC-TEST or TOEIC-IP. TOEIC SW-TEST is not accepted. If you are going to submit TOEIC score, bring an original score sheet on the day of exam. After taking a copy, the score sheet will be returned to you.
  • + Based on our standard, the score will be converted into a range from 0 to 100.
